Steps For Building A Website
As the title says “the steps for building a website” are pretty simple:
1. To start with you either need to be an expert at coding HTML, PHP, ASP, Java Script or…. better yet, don’t worry about knowing anything and just get yourself a website builder, a program or tool that puts together a website for you with little effort .The tools can be gotten for free or purchased and others are available for a nominal cost (considering what they can do) if you have something “special” in mind.
Website builder applications often allow you to develop websites with little to no HTML or technical know-how.
The free programs can be used to build websites, just do a search in a search engine, I just did and got these results 858,000 for “free website builder” .
Then there are successful websites built with applications where all you have to do is put words into the application, or tell the application the .doc files or .txt files that already have the content/articles that you have written and these programs can generate a 5 page website or up to a 1,000 page website in a matter of moments. Sure, you do have to buy these and they are pretty inexpensive, but instead of helping you with one page, they build the whole website.
These type of website builders or website generators can produce some very good, nichie, classy website’s that are considered “white hat” (informative and original content sites, usually only a few pages) that will be around in the search engines for years. And they can also produce what are known as “black hat” sites (big, maybe a few thousand pages, sites) that are centered around the keywords that you feed into the program. These sites make money right away’s, but the search engines don’t like them and the profits are very short lived. You decide which is best for you.
2. Find a domain name that has to do with your site, often one that is keyword related, and register it.
3. The next thing to do is to find “hosting” for your website. A host is who puts your website on the Internet. You give them your file, you FTP the files from your computer to theirs and “viola” your website appears.
4. Now you actually need to have something to put on the pages of your website. If you are hoping to sell stuff, and maybe make some money selling products from our store, ebooks that you created or bought resale rights to, affiliate products, or have Adsense on your site, then you need to have original and informative content that puts the visitors to your site in a buying mood.
If you have plenty of free time you can write the content for your pages, the articles, yourself. But if you are busy and don’t have the time, like me, you can find article writers, via Internet Marketing forums, who will write these articles for you.
Pretty simple huh? Sure you do need work on some search engine optimization items, such as the keywords and meta tags of the pages of your new website.
After that you’ll want to work on generating traffic to your website via manually submitting your site to some of the search engines, writing and submitting articles, and maybe even setting up a blog.
