Probiotics & Nutrition For Awesome Canine & Feline Health
Symptoms of a parasitic infection can include diarrhea, vomiting, and a “cute” potbelly as is often seen in puppies. Poor coat condition and a general appearance of low health are also indications of dog parasites or a bacterial infection. If you think your animal has a parasite, get the vet to take a stool sample.
You should educate yourself on the raw diet and be aware of all that is found in it, however do not allow this to deter you from feeding it to your pet. Many pet owners have found that the raw food diet has been the best thing for the pets and highly recommend it. Some so-called experts on dog nutrition recommend cooking the food as to allow for the protein to digest easier and to rid of parasites. However, this is incorrect, as the raw food does not need to be cooked.
If your dog has a healthy immune system, it may be better able to fight off dog parasite infections. If you provide your pet with protection against parasites, you should have nothing to worry about; a good regimen includes such things as a heartworm check and flea control, as well as guarding against other parasites.
It’s good to be able to spot the signs though just in case - diarrhea could indicate food poisoning or parasites. Canine parasite and bacterial infections are unpleasant for the animal and can cause serious problems if left unattended.
You need not purchase nutritional supplements if you are confident that your dogs diet is enough. However, a dog nutrition supplement like FortiFlora, an excellent probiotic for dogs, provides support to their digestion and immune system. Similar to the case with humans, nutritional and health aids can be used to improve immunity, avoid disease, and foster good health.
Most commercial brands of food fail to address a healthy diet, and it is really worth researching the ingredients that go into your dog’s food. With more and more brands including vegetables, fruit and grains, questions over the nutritional value of corn and the nutritional value of fruit for canines need to be asked. The answers lie in research and common sense.
The main concern that arises is that most of the brands, which declare to be the ideal diet may not be well backed by evidence, and their ingredient lists are proof that they don’t have the best interests of you and your pet in mind. For most dogs, a daily or weekly dose of vitamins or probiotics is the only supplement necessary.
