Completing our spa odyssey from west to east, the Buttermilk Falls Inn & Spa in Milton, N.Y. is a renovated 1680 home and 70-acre estate on the banks of the Hudson River. Outside, the grounds have retained their historic charm with exquisite gardens, flowering terraces, and wildflower fields; there are even swans! Indoors, guests can enjoy their own whirlpool tub or curl up in front of their fireplaces.

Guests choose from an extensive spa menu, including massages, facials, waxing and reflexology. There are a variety of packages, as well, combining many of the spa’s popular offerings. Guests can go simple with offerings such as The Harmony, which includes a facial and a 45-minute focused massage. For all-out pampering, the Peace Retreat package includes an aroma-hot stone massage, a facial, reflexology, and a hand and foot salt glow.

The Sanford House Inn & Spa in Arlington, Texas, affords close access to Dallas and a huge variety of attractions, but guests don’t even need to leave the grounds to enjoy a blissful, relaxing vacation. The guest rooms and romantic cottages are filled with beautiful furnishings and romantic dcor. The cottages are a perfect romantic retreat, affording ultimate privacy as well as a fireplace and Jacuzzi tub. Pamper yourself further with a trip to the Spa and Salon. The spa offers massage therapy, facial therapy, body wraps, bronzing, and even Botinal, a treatment similar to Botox, but without the pain of needles.

Combine the romance and hospitality of a romantic inn with the unforgettable beauty of Alaska and the result is Pearson’s Pond Bed and Breakfast and Adventure Spa. This spectacular Juneau, Alaska retreat wins award after award for its romantic ambiance, amenities and hospitality. Guest rooms include a fireplace and several also have a Jacuzzi tub. There are several hot tubs on the property, surrounded by woods and offering views of nearby Mendenhall Glacier. The Adventure Spa offers outdoor activities such as mountain biking, hiking, kayaking and fishing. Guests can book a massage or aromatherapy treatments or work out in the fitness center.

The Cheshire Cat Inn & Spa in Santa Barbara, California is located in two side-by-side Victorian mansions graced with high ceilings, and pagoda-type bay windows. There’s also a coach house and two cottages for you to unwind in, just minutes from downtown. However, if you want to get serious about relaxation, partake in the Cheshire Cat’s many forms of massage. This B&B’s signature ‘Cheshire Cat’ massage uses a combination of aromatic oils of citrus, rosemary and ginger to relieve the stressed back, neck, shoulders and scalp. History buffs love it for its three centuries of ambiance, but those seeking relaxation, will enjoy the Dan’l Webster Inn for its full-service spa and restful guest rooms and suites. Built in 1692, this boutique inn offers a variety of rooms, some with fireplaces or whirlpool tubs. Guests can dine in the casual tavern room or enjoy a fancier, romantic dinner in one of the inn’s dining rooms. The inn’s spa includes a full range of massage options, as well as body treatments, facials, hand and foot treatments, a Men’s spa and bridal services.
