More and more people are deciding to quit their routine jobs (usually 9-5) in favor of starting their own business to make money online. Each person that makes this decision wants to know what method contains the magic formula but this is different for everyone. First off, what is it your are good at because this will affect your chances of earning money online; so to start off only the two most popular methods are used as an illustration in this article. Affiliate marketing is probably the most popular way to make money online where you become a commission only salesperson for a company which can easily have thousands of sales people (affiliates) working for them. There are many advantages to this but the most important is that the affiliate does not own the company and only has the task of finding sales to earn money.

The second main method of making money online is Google with their adsense program, where adverts generated by them are placed on sites etc. and are keyword related to the content of that site. Adsense accounts are free and the person with the adverts gets paid a very small amount each time one is clicked by a visitor.

Unfortunately either a very well visited site or a large number of sites with a few visitors clicking is needed to generate a decent income with this method. While Google may not restrict who joins their program, they do make plenty of restrictions regarding the placing of adverts so keep abreast of their terms and conditions.

While almost anyone can join Google’s program, care is needed as they are continually updating and amending their terms and conditions which will affect your revenue. Most people just want to make money online to supplement their own income or it could be to build a viable long term business but ensure you know why you are doing it from the start. Right from the start you need to learn how to get people to visit your site, called traffic so it is worthwhile doing some research on how this is done.

There are a host of websites which can help beginners (and experts alike) with advice, one such is warriorforum which most internet marketers join and a great deal of help and information can be found there. You do not need to be a computer expert to be able to make money online, nor do you even need a website or have a product of you won to sell, although this is a good idea at some point.
