So You Want a Palm Pilot
There is nothing quite as frustrating as forgetting an appointment or finding yourself out on the go and needing to access your personal documents. It can be enough to make you want to pull your hair out.
You need something that is portable, but allows you to keep track of your schedule and important events. New phones have many of these capabilities, but you may need something more for your particular lifestyle. You need to check out a Palm. It’s sleek, has handy gadgets and software programs.
The Palm has come a long way since its humble beginnings. This device started out as a calculator sized computer that had very limited and basic functions. Later models added the ability to see one line of text, this limited functionality is fortunately history.
The Smartphone is a combo of a regular PDA and a cell phone. In the latest product line Palm Centro, Palm introduces their new Smartphone which is miles away from the old PalmPilot when it comes to power and features. The hardware have support for Palm OS and Windows Mobile, that brings even more diversity to the table.
Palm handhelds run Windows Mobile as well as Palm OS and with the latest hardware and operating systems like Window Mobile version 6, they are now actually Smartphones and not PDA’s any more.
The combination of a PDA and a cell phone is called Smartphone, many companies are choosing this “new PDA” over the old, modern operating Systems like Windows Mobile 6 with support for voice communications over the mobile phone network is increasing in popularity. Many companies even changed their selling tactics with the advent of this new gadget.
Even if you already have a cell phone, the PDA can still be used for its scheduling capabilities; however, once you have fully mastered the PDA, you’ll never want to go back to a paper planner again.
