Web Designers’ Salary
Being a web designer is a good thing: the industry is growing, and the income is pretty good.
The Growing Industry
Many more businesses these days are turning digital; they don’t need physical inventory on shelves that may pile up or costly overhead. Sometimes, the retailer doesn’t even have to own the actual products to sell them.
With some online businesses, all they do is pass on orders set by customers online to wholesalers who ship the products. The online business acts as a middleman, taking a cut off the profit.
Even big box retailers, like Wal-Mart and Target, have certain items on their web site that are available online only and can’t be purchased offline. Web designers are needed to create, maintain and optimize the website to enhance consumer’s retail shopping experience.
Increasing Web Design Salary
Like most salaries in other fields, web design salaries vary depending on the person’s experience, education and location. Although web design work can be done remotely, smaller companies prefer to work with web designers in their local area because they can meet face to face.
