Get Your Profile Some Help - Dating Tips for Guys
One of the best ways to practice surefire dating techniques is to work on meeting women online. There are a lot of advantages to online dating, like having time to really think out your responses and not having to deal with the sting of rejections that are so difficult in real-life. But what is the key to getting noticed online? The secret lies in your online profile.
There are a lot of do’s and don’t’s when it comes to profile writing. If you take too many wrong turns you may end up wondering why you are not having any luck. The truth is, luck has nothing to do with it. Writing a successful online dating profile is an art, and it is not as hard as you think.
Knowing what to avoid is as important as knowing what to include. These common mistakes will generate a complete lack of interest. Making a big show of being a “nice guy” is a huge bore, because you will end up sounding like everyone else. Including too many personal details is also a losing tactic. Posting a picture that is poorly lit, old, or completely unflattering is not going to do you any favors. If you do the above, you will find yourself wondering why no one is responding to you.
Okay, so if these are all no-no’s, what can you do to ensure success? Good question. Start off by making yourself sound confident and fun, not needy and desperate. In other words, hook them with humor.
In the words of David Deangelo - being cocky-funny is the fastest route to being noticed, both online and off. This rule especially applies to your profile! This might mean playing a little hard to get, implying that a woman will have to work to get your attention, or just indicating that any woman who catches your eye is one lucky lady.
Maybe the most important piece of advice is this next bit. Leave out as many details as possible. I know, it sounds crazy, but believe me, it works. This is called “being mysterious”, and it means making her do some guess work. This gets her imagination going, and makes her want to know more.
And back to that profile photo: make it stand out. Know your best feature, and play it up. If you have a great smile, use it. If your eyes are your best feature, be sure to use a picture that shows them off. Don’t use a picture of yourself with other girls, or in a setting that makes you look lame or boring (with your cat or in your office). Bonus points for showing off exotic places or exciting hobbies in the background.
So, as a quick review for your profile: be “cocky and funny”, be mysterious, and use an image that generates interest. By sticking to these very simple guidelines, you will have more success with online dating than you ever thought possible.
