When you think about it, your little miracle took nine months to perfection. It was your unconditional love for your unborn baby that made you adapt to a healthy lifestyle in order to have a healthy baby. You, too, are worth the sacrifice, effort and patience to lose the pregnancy weight permanently.

Let’s be candid here. Opting for the over hyped diet pill or fad diet is the wrong way to go about losing the baby fat because the average Mom is lacking in the essentials to do it the right way. These essentials vary from person to person. Whether it’s not enough time, motivation, mental toughness, self-confidence and so on, the list is not important. What matters is that permanent weight loss starts and ends with you.

Lose the Weight by Loving You

To truly love yourself is easier said than done especially when you are a busy Mom. Most of your energy and love gets poured into your loved ones. But if your goal is to lose pregnancy weight fast, then you have to start loving yourself.

Love will help you to be intrinsically motivated to reach your goal. To put it simply, you have to be able to discipline, motivate, forgive and celebrate you as you take the challenging road to get a lean and toned body. A little love can take you all the way.

If your self-confidence is low and your post pregnancy weight is high, it high time you get back into shape. Going about it the healthy way will require, as they say, “no pain, no gain”. As a Mother you have faced and overcame many challenges running a household. But this one is personal. You have to courageously fight the temptation to procrastinate, give up or cheat with a quick-fix diet pill to trim your tummy. If you can readily cope with the responsibilities of being a Mom for your family, then why not cope with getting fit and healthy for you?

A Good dose of Honesty

Loving yourself also means being honest with who you are and what your capabilities are regarding weight management. It means being able to set realistic goals to lose your tummy and to make healthy lifestyle choices. It means being able to know your weakness and finding the tools to overcome them. It means being able to know your strengths and using them to your advantage. It means being able to judge your actions fairly and to make the wise choices to make your goal to lose weight after giving birth a long-term investment.

Professionals in the health and fitness industries all conduct some form of personal questionnaire about their clients. Your personal “portfolio” helps them to highlight your strengths and weakness and from that they will be able to better assist you on your goal to trim your tummy and get fit. Likewise, you can be your own fitness/lifestyle coach by getting to know yourself. Start by reflecting on your strengths and weaknesses that can either help or harm you shed the pounds. A little one-on-one with yourself can help your quest be successful.

Going beyond your physical appearance to address the entire person is the healthy way to lose the pregnancy weight for good. Love can conquer anything and pregnancy weight is no exception. So, by loving yourself you will be able to make the shift to living a healthier lifestyle. And knowing who you are will help you to avoid the pit falls that can set you back and to acknowledge the blessings that can propel you forward.
