Look for a multi disc player so you can keep several movies and music CDs loaded for playback without having to get up from your seat. A DVD player with progressive scan an insures you a clear sharp picture. You might also want to consider a DVD player/recorder which can record movie and television program onto blank disc for your own personal use. DVD-R recorder also have large hard drives onto which you can download and store your favorite show.

The audio sound in your home theater system may come from a starter set which consists of center right and left speakers along with a subwoofer for stronger bass sounds. Check the review in audiovisual magazines to determine the best ratings on speakers and the ideal components for home theater use. It is a good idea to listen to what emerges from your speakers before buying them so that you can see if the sound will fit your needs. Take time and visit a number of stores before making a final decision.
