Advanced Word the easy way

If you have conquered the fear of computers and got up to speed with current Microsoft Applications you are well on your way to becoming a whiz kid. But what happens when the version changes and you have to start learning how to use the software all over again. Who do you call on? How can you learn? What are the most effective methods?

Video lessons can become your companion as they teach you in your own home/office, they talk you through each step and demonstrate on a computer as they go alongyour technical friend!

How Videos can help YOU!

The Internet is full of good videos which are short and easy to absorb and learn from. They are free and can be viewed immediately so you don’t have to stop the project you are working on. You can pause the video as you go along and you can work at your own pace watching the lesson as many times as you like. As you will be effectively be ‘looking over someone’s shoulder’ as they use Word you will find the lessons more easily remembered and enjoyable.

How do I do it?

The first thing to do is spend some time looking for the video which holds your answers. Be choosy to avoid wasting time watching footage which has no relevance to your problem. Once you find the right video, the lesson will take far less time than attending your local college for an IT course!

Videos vs Training Courses

Most of us don’t have the time to attend numerous courses each time software is updated, nor do we want to travel to a venue. When on courses you are often in a group of people who all work at different paces and like to learn in different ways. Courses are often expensive too.

Word is not just a Word Processor

Word is a flexible program capable of dressing up a standard document into something far more interesting and informative. Charts and pictures can replace chunks of text and the use of colour and indenting can make your document easier to read. Video lessons can teach you all this and more and may be a learning tool for you or a refresher for features you have not used recently.

Learning about these features is worth the effort and besides “it is easy when you know how!”

Are these Videos found on the Internet?
